Smoke starts coming out of the vents so I pop the front truck and see the fuel pump relay on fire

I was able to beat out the fire with my sweater.

I am am hopeing damage is limited

Anyone have a spare fuse box cover laying around?

damn good thing thing you caught it before it got too big! I caught my (actually my freinds) 4 wheeler on fire today when i was welding a brush guard on it. I had it tiped up so gas ran out of the carb and i was welding over it in front. So the air filter was completely in flames and the battery was burning pretty good too. Its a bit melted on the outside but i think its ok. Stupid fire sucks!

Did some foresic work with my brother with a multi tester to the black fuel pump wire and found out that the fuel pump put out 24 amps.

It looks like it caused the fuse to melt, which caused the hazard relay to catch on fire with the fuel pump relay.

I received the replacement fuel pump relay socket and harness.
It is complete right down to the connections (fuel pump, ignition, rev limiter, grounds etc)

Is it possible to route the wire to the original locations without major surgery or should I just splice the conections I cannot reach?

John
