Post Tail of the Dragon

Has anyone driven the Tail of the Dragon? Some friends of mine and I are planning on mid-March trip and are curious as to what to expect. Looks like a great opportunity for a couple of PCA chapters to meet. Thanks.

Nate,
I may be up for that! A few of my Honda friends that live near 129 have said that it is quite a fun road.
I'm heading to Skyline Drive in the Shenendoah Valley in 2 weeks so I hope that will be a fun road as well.

Nate,
..I have driven it a couple of times, but not in my 911.(once in a 928, once in a Karmann Ghia convert.)and I must say, it is one twisty section of tarmac! It is a pretty popular place for sport bikers, cruisers, sporty car drivers, and unfortunately the local highway patrol. But getting there is a lovely drive on some of the most scenic roads in the southeast. Enjoy!

It runs from the SE part of TN to the SW part of NC. It's about 8 hours from DC down 81. 318 turns in 11 miles....

Check out Yahoo! Maps for Robbinsville, NC. You'll be able to get distance and approximate times there. I've always found their estimated driving times to be a little high.
