Default 16x8's or 16x9's For The Street

I need some help making a decision.

If you had two sets of Fuchs - one set of 16x7/8's and one set of 16x7/9's. Which one would you use for the street and which one would you use for autox. And why?

If I had BOTH 7/8s and 7/9s I would be inclined to run the 7/8s on the street. 7/9s on the "track" or "ax". I assume the 8's are 911 offset vs 951.

For street though, for easy steering, I would run 205 front and either 225 or 245 on the 8s in the rear.

For AX/DE I would squeeze on 225 front and 245 rear. Dial out some understeer. May need to trim fender lip.

Since you aren't looking for the last 10th of performance on the street, running either a 225 or 245 would be fine. However, for the AX/DE, you might notice and appreciate the wider 9 with a 245 as there will be less sidewall motion since the tire fits better on the wider rim.

7s and 8s for both. Finding tires to fit 16X9 wheels is becoming increasingly more difficult. A recent search on ebayed just revealed that there were no 16X8 wheels and a bunch of 16X9s. I wonder if people are getting fed up with the lack of tire choices?

For the track, I would still use 8s and 9s for the same reason.

I think it's more that they are asking $ 900/wheel.

I'm happy with my 8" 951 fronts and 9" rears.

245/45/16 Rear and 225/50/16 fronts

Did you roll your fenders to get thoses 8's in the front or do you just run a lot of negative camber?
