I am looking at buying a Porche 911 and prefer the models made in the 80's.

I am familar with the SCs and have seen an 83 Carrera for sale. Is there such a thing as an 83 Carrera or is it still considered an SC?

if you have the VIN we can confirm exactly what it is

 

first thing you want to do is spend the $25.00 bucks for Peter Zimmermann's book on Amazon.com "the used 911 story" it goes over all that. I'd go with JV's answer
