Looking for some "bright ideas" on headlights.
Have H4s in my '82 and wondering if anyone has experience with either;
1) Converting to HID lights, or
2) Using some of the "brighter/whiter" halogen bulbs like the Sylvania Silverstar
Any suggestions for a conversion, any problems? Are the better halogens really that much better, anything close to HID? etc. discuss...
Thanks in advance

ya gotta get the new, new Silverstars. I don't even have to turn on the driving lights any more the headlights do just fine. at Pep Boys they had two differeant packages for the same "Silverstars" and had to ask. This was 8 or 9 months ago so by now I bet it's all the new stuff. You will be amazed....

You want light from those H4's?????
1) Install a set of relays to protect the headlight switches and wiring
2) Install a pair of either 90/130w or 100/130w bulbs. There are some 100/150w bulbs available too (that are incredible), but they are NOT cheap.

Bray, thanks for the advice on silverstars. Put mains and fogs in this weekend and did a nighttime Portland to Seattle drive. The weather even "cooperated" and gave me some fog to test with. Great depth and distance and nice bright white color.
