Hey Oshin I think you are priced about right. I guess it comes down to how bad you want to sell it. I think loaed had a similar car but he seamed very anxious to sell. I checked autotrder.com for your year and milage and you look in pretty good shape, some lower some higher.
Best of luck.
PS I too am looking for a 993 but I am trying to figure out how to keep both..

Isn't Santa Barbara one of those places where if you have to ask how much it costs to live (survive) there, you can't afford it? My son went to UCSB, shared an ancient house in Goleta with a bunch of guys, and barely survived!
FYI: I just looked at your ad, you might want to make some mods! Your car obviously does not have airbags, but it probably does have A/C, int. wipers and an alarm! Cheers!

Oh yea ill change that, and yes santa barbara is really expensive. I think I am going to buy a "for sale" sign and stick that on my car, but I dont park outside very often so many people wont see it.

Yea I fixed it, someone called about it today, I hope I can get 21K for it. Or at least 20.5K even though I feel I should get 22K

Hmm I expected to get more calls about my car, especially when offering a rennlist member discount. Is my car really ugly? haha. I don't think you can find many 3.2s in this nice of mechanical health and this nice of an exterior/interior. I see posts on the 911 forum with people saying "should I buy this 3.2 carrera" and they all seem to be duds but nobody ever asks about my car. Maybe its out of their "18K" price range.

Hi Oshin, I don't mean to be a dick, but I don't think $17K is all that out-of-line. There's a blue on blue cab for sale locally that is very nice with just under 100K miles on it for $19K obo, and that car has 7s and 8s and the seats have been covered with sheepskins since day 1, they look and feel like brand new.
In the SoCal market, you're going to be hard-pressed to get a great offer since it's so saturated with Porsches.
Good luck with the sale and 993 purchase.

Yea I understand there are a lot of nice cars out there, but a lot of them can be ticking timebombs too. I bought mine at around 18.5 and thats exactly what happened, I spend 6 grand in the year that I have owned it, doing all the things the previous owner SHOULD have taken care of. So now I am trying to get SOME of that money back. Not all, just about 30-35% of the money I have put into it in the last 3000 miles.

You paid for a $$$ Porsche Learning Experience. I wouldn't expect to get a lot of that money back. We have the highest prices for 911's in the whole country up here in the NW, and you'd still be sucking wind at $19K-ish. That's well into 964 territory. It's a nice car, but the 125K miles are a BIG obstacle. The knowledgeable are going to wonder when they'll need to do a top-end; the uninitiated are simply going to think, "that's a lot of miles".

Just for reference, a few months ago I bought an 87 Cabriolet, Carmine Red, 113K miles, excellent condition, and stellar PPI for $16900.
The car has been fantastic. Minor repairs only. Doesn't leak oil.
I feel I got a killer deal. So you can probably get more than the $16900 that I paid. But I'm not sure that assuming the offers of $17K are all wholesalers makes sense.
I agree with the other poster who says the price you're asking will get a newer 964. Arguably, there are merits to the 911 3.2 over the newer 964s. But the 964s are a much more "modern" car. And people who don't know the differences and APPRECIATE the differences will likely opt for a newer, lower mileage 964.
Personally, I'm not eager to trade my 87 for a 964.

PS - I'm not flaming the 964s! They are great and my next Porsche will probably be a C4

You will be doing very well if you get your initial money back out of your car.
It's a wonderful color combo and seems like a very nice car. You are very honest with what you've done and hats off to you for being up front. However, you've yanked the A/C and back dated the heat and those two items detract from it's value to some degree. Buyers in the south must have A/C and if it would attract a buyer in the snow belt, the full heat output in a convertible is mandatory during spring and fall cool weather. It probably wouldn't take much to get the heat going again, but it's an item that would need addressing to some in the snow belt.
Keep in mind that about 1/3 of the country is going "off line" with winter coming. Us guys (and gals) in the snow belt probably have put our cars away by now and those buyers that were out there have either A) gave up for the winter or B) are looking for a heck of deal on a car since they would have to get the car back into the snow belt and put it in immediate storage. Cabs are not desireable in the snow belt during winter.
Spring brings a ton more buyers out of the woodwork when we here in the snow belt get REALLY itchy to buy a car. Values come up a bit since more buyers get back into the market.
$20k probably isn't going to happen. However, for your sake, I hope I'm wrong and I wish you the best of luck with your sale.
