The trick to a home alignment are:
- A level surface. If the car isn't level, you're wasting your time.
- A way to get under the car to adjust the rear settings. While the car is strung, that is.

I thought I'd give you a little feed back.
I was playing around with the Smart Camber tool this weekend. I like it. I've tried measuring camber with a level and tape measure in the past on my 944. The Smart Camber is great because you can get repeatable results very easily (which I couldn't do in the other method). It's simple to use and you can set it up for the pavement that the car is on (so the car doesn't have to sit level). I guess you could use it at the track easily if you wanted to change your camber/castor settings.
It also showed me how much I f'd up my alignment by changing the torsion bars.
Fronts were fine at -1.0 deg. But the rear drivers side was like -0.8 and rear passenger side was -3.0. That's got to make for some funny handling characteristics.
I haven't tried out the Smart Strings yet. I'll update you when I do.
I'm going on vacation, so when I come back I plan to take a shot at the alignment.
