Post REPLATING HARDWARE ON RESTORATION

Does anybody know if replating the fasteners(nuts & bolts) compromises the strength of the hardware? What is the correct yellow finish, zinc chromate(yellow)or yellow cadmium? I can only find 10.9 bollts in black oxide. I was told I could have them replated yellow, does this affect the temper?
Thanks in advance for any help.
PS. I would like to keep the original markings on the bolts.

Im fairly certain any Yellow bolts are cadmium plated, without the use of red or green dye. Just plain cadmium plate will give a yellow appearance. Its an electroplating process and doesnt have any effect on the strength of the metal. The Eastwood Co sells kits that will do the job nicely, and they are on line.
Good luck
