hi,
i usually post in 993 land..but since selling my car last year thought i would explore possibility of older example and this one has caught my eye.
anyone know this car or wish to share thoughts? a 'widebody' targa, tons of updates supposedly. i might be in the market for a reasonably priced toy.
thanks in advance!

As I see it he has more money in bolt on's than he has in 1980 Targa O.E. from the air damn, to the fenders front/rear, to the wheels, and then the tail. again, individually, great stuff, but not factory...I just don't get it. What was wrong with a stock targa?

If my memory serves me correctly, the first factory Turbo-look car was not offered by the factory until 1984, and they were only built in coupe version. Cabrio and Targa Turbo-look cars didn't come along until late in '86, some may have been '86 models, but most were '87s. 1980 Targas didn't even have Cabrio chassis stiffening technology, Porsche sure wouldn't have made one a wide body!

The factory didn't make Jack Olsen's car either, but that doesn't mean it's bad
. The OE purest may not like it, but I'd take Jack's car over most any stock version of the era. Not saying this car compares, but I know that some folks will talk negative about anything that's not stock. I had a friend who went to great lengths to find the original tires that came on his car in the 70's, which I think were P6's, even though there were current technology tires that are better. Also wouldn't change the crappy stereo as it wouldn't be "factory".

That looks like a very nice car from the pictures.
Its a shame that it is being mis-represented by the seller. It makes you wonder what else is wrong with the car.

I wondered about this car too and it looks okay from the pics but he's all over the map with his words, most of which arepretty hollow if you asked me. Surely worth further investigation if thats what you're in the market for.
