thanks, checked them out. They are $1,500 for the kit plus shipping under the dash. I would also like to compare a few more before I make my purchase. Does anyone out there have experience with adding a/c kit? thanks again Mike

There is a group on the east coast that was working on making a very nice system. I found them after I heard some comments that the Ice system was bare bones and not up to the quality of the rest of the car. Problem is, I can't find the information on them right now. I'll try to post it if I find it. It was a couple years ago.

Does Griffiths have a full kit? If so, Charlie's stuff is always first rate...

I have no actual experience with this but I heard or read somewhere that these guys
make good products for 911 A/C (others, correct me if I am wrong):

Rennaire makes great stuff. I'm don't believe they make an entire kit, including the underdash vents. It's worth a call, however.

I have an aftermarket ice air kit in my 77. It works OK. The air it blows is cold, but the amount it blows is hardly tornadic. It also affects the idle of the engine, lugging it by two hundred or so rpm. Beats no air at all.

I installed an awesome kit from Griffiths in a 76 930 - 3 condensors, blew 32 degrees on a cold day. I decided not to let cost be a factor - good thing, because it was expensive.

I installed an awesome kit from Griffiths in a 76 930 - 3 condensors, blew 32 degrees on a very hot day. I decided not to let cost be a factor - good thing, because it was expensive, but in the end worth every penny. Everything fit perfectly and worked the first time, and they send along a great manual for doing it. I threw all the stock AC junk in the trash except the inside underdash fan unit, which I liked.

Just replacing the stupid semi-permeable hoses Porsche used is a huge improvement.

I would not go the cheapest route on a project like this.
