Is there a difference in fuel pumps for the3.0L and the 3.2L....I have a 3.2L in a 3.0L car....and have a brand new 3.2L fuel pump for the engine. Anything I should be concerned about?
Its an 82SC with an 87 3.2L Carrera engine. I have a new fuel pump for an 87 Carrera. I just replaced the fuel filter with a brand new one and when I held the old fuel filter upside down...it was blackish fuel that came out. The fuel pump still works but I wanna be on the safe side and replace it, since I have this new that I got for pennies.
Thx-chris

Cool...ok have the new correct fuel pump in now....the old one had a filter that was clogged, Im guessing the car should run a bit better now....flushed gas tank and brand spanking new pump and filter...... Thanks Ian!!!!!

Good.
I learned about fuel pumps the hard way, when mine failed on a freeway onramp. Like a switch. It cost me a flat-bed home + DME relay (my 1st thought) + fuel pump. At least they're easy to install.
