I went into my local O'Reilly (Houston chain) and they had 10 cases of SL rated Exxon (yes the cases were quite dusty). They also had some SL rated Valvoline... I picked up three cases of the Exxon. Guess my point is that if you go to the smaller local stores, and not Autozone or Walmart... you can probably get SL rated oil... Not sure how this compares to the old original Kendal everyone raves about, but several experts on here and Pelican have said SL rated oil is fine for air cooled engines. This prevents the need to have to drive 400 miles for Brad Penn (for me Oklahoma City) or use additives.

New P/n usually means higher price but who cares , at least we can get it . Think I will start pressuring my local GM dealer.
