I bought a new one 7/14/05 from the local Porsche dealer for $330, no core. I kept the old one on the shelf figuring I'd have it rebuilt as a spare one day (haven't yet). Replaced the battery at the same time. By the time I was done, total out-of-pocket was just around $500, doing the labor myself.
I"ve got mine out. It says it's 14v 90 amp Paris Rhone. I figured I'd go new rather than rebuilt. Any suggestions for a solid stock replacement?
86' Carrera

I bought a K3 from Pelican, Aussie made and Bosch components, still works after 20K miles. Aase has sold a lot of them. Expensive. If I had it to do over I'd get the French one rebuilt as others have said. Does anyone know how to go about getting new long mounting screws?
I put a rebuilt Pelican one in my old '85 ten years ago and current owner reports no problems. I have to admit, it is a big PITA to R&R the alternator in a 911.
