Default 1970 - 1973 911S - Where to Find?

Can someone tell me where to find a good project car 1970 - 1973 911S coupe? I live in Pennsylvania and cannot find a good project car in this model year range.

Try Pelican Parts, Early 911S registry and, forgive me, Ebay.

It's very difficult to buy an early S right now, prices are going up so quickly even the junkers are expensive.
Good Luck,

try autotrader.com and enter zip code 91730 and give it a 100 mile radius. some owners fudge on the year to get it in and correct it in the add. I am surrounded by Porsches. 1,000's of them.

remember: when you do find one it is going to be so rare and wanted by everyone on the board that you may not want to disclose its location. just an after thought.

15 people that all ran to ebay to see if they got the winning bid.

local dealer has a 197? with a 3.2 he has had in the family forever asking $20,000. white with big hips, she's qute

I've seen some of Douglas' finds posted. I think he has the knack that you need.

Early 911S registry is probably your best source for info and to start. But you'll need to stand in line as there are tons of people looking for S models and very few around. A good one is very expensive to buy and a bad one is very expensive to fix up. Do you have to have an S. If you're looking for a driver/project you can have a good time with a T or an E and there are plenty of those around and still at reasonable prices.

I've been looking for an early 911 too. None around these parts. I certainly don't need or even want an "S". I'd just be happy to find a good rust free roller. Or a 912 for that matter.

More than a few are ending up on the race track. 2 litre vintage racing is a big deal these days, and decent cars are going in the $75k and up range.

See 2 litre race Porsches

We just sent a nice tub to FL for race prep two weeks ago.

I'd say eBay and the PCA website's classified ads...Pelican and Rennlist are also possible sources...

I personally love the 1970/71 2.2 cars...Porsche really did it right back there!

...and even then the line forms on the right!

I check the local classifieds first thing every morning looking for just one, rust-free, long hood, long wheelbase car with MFI that I can race out and buy. Maybe someday that dream car, you know, the silver '71S, will be in the paper...and no other buyers will look at their paper that morning.
