My perfect seats...are no more...
So pissed off, too.
Saturday at AutoX I noticed a "gash" in the leather on the passenger side seat.
No idea what put it there. I'm always very careful about not putting objects with sharp corners and edges in the seats.
It was not there earlier.
Thinking about getting some seat covers so this doesn't happen again. Any Sport-seat covers available?
Also...going to want someone to fix this.
It's not torn. Just "gashed"
Prior to this, the only visible wear on these seats was some slight color fade on the outer bolster on the driver's seat, and some mild wrinkling of the leather. as hell.

Out of the dozens of cars I looked at while looking for one, this had the nicest seats...and was the nicest and best kept all around..

My GOD, I hope you don't have kids Because if one of them did it, we'll know where they'll be.
Get on the phone to a leather specialist store. I'm sure there's something out there that will 'almost' hide that completely.
Good luck
P.S. None of your passengers have zips in the rear pockets of their jeans???????

I had similar damage on my black leather seats , a lot easier to fix as i got some special die and worked it in. Worked great. Your colour may be tougher.

Nope, no rear jean pocket zips...
Nobody else but me has ridden in the car for quite awhile before the gash appeared. It was definately someting not caused bya person riding in the seat.
100% positive it occured on Autocross day. I wipe down the seats frequently, and would have noticed it.
Wierdest thing it, the only things that went in the car with me were my helmet, jacket, and in-car camera...nothing heavy or bulky enough to make a mark like that, and no realy sharp edges. My wife takes her vehicle for larger stuff.

Hey Wolfe,
In my younger days I got a scratch like that, in the same place, on my 74 targa.
Turns out it was from my Girlfriends earring. And she was wearing them at the time!

In my Acura TL, I once somehow got a mysterious hole in the side of the seat. When I took it to an upholstery shop, they recommended that I find a guy who repairs leather and vinyl seats using a filler technique. I found such a guy, and his work is amazing. He filled the hole, textured it, and then colored the repair, and the damage disappeared. In my 911, the PO had a keypad for an alarm cut into the dash, and I had the same guy come out and fix that damage as well. Once again, the damage literally disappeared.
Check around in your area and see if there's anyone who performs this type of work. If he's good, he'll make that scratch disappear and you'll forget it ever happened.
Good luck!
