I have a set of power seats out of an '87 Carrera and would like to put them in an '83 SC. Will they bolt right in? What power requirements are there for the seats and is there a way to hook them up to the SC?
Thanks ,James

James, they will in fact bolt right in, provided you have the sliders/rails that are utilized with those power seats.
As far as power requirements, the factory basically uses relays to feed the power required to the seat motors, much like they did for the electric windows...meaning that there is a sizeable lead for 12v and ground to feed the seat, maybe 10 gauge?? But you should relay this to the ignition.
I'm assuming all the controls to adjust the seat are onboard the seat? If so, basically you just have to provide a good sized 12v lead and a good ground to operate them. Maybe check out another Carrera to see what fuse (amp) requirement there is for the electric seats.
Good Luck!

Jeff,
I am in the same boat - wanting to fit later 3.2 electric seats into my 1978 911sc.
Any suggestions where to connect up to the 12v ignition and the ground.
or can I go throught to the fuse board and fit a relay there?
Thanks for any advice.

Well I would go the lazy route and get the factory harness.
Harness NR. 521
Electric adjustable and heatable front seat
911 621 521 02
The relay is mounted to the seat bottom and the harness provides power from the fuse box.
