Question tweeks cabriolet conversion

thoughts of the conversion sold in tweeks for 2999.00? is it a good bargain for upgrading ones car? i know that true enthusiasts deteste these kits or any kit that makes a porsche anything other than what it was from the factory..i have a 1983 targa in pretty good shape. my future plans are paint in a few years and interior restoration along with a new targa top and c2 wheels. it currently has a whale tail and stock fuchs.

can one offset this purchase price by selling the targa top and targa bar? i see tops on ebay for $400 and up in need of restoration....how much is a targa bar worth?

has anyone tried these conversions? the positives and negatives please.......

thanks in advance

I would be very leery. A main worry would be stiffness. Go for it if you want a "Flexy Flier." That said, I have a friend who did this conversion a few years ago, and he was pleased with the results. Though it did hurt the resale value.
