Sales Brochure for an 82SC!!
Just had to share with the brethren! My wife got me this off ebay for Father's Day. How cool ...like a time machine going back to when my car was the new sports car hottie on the block. Pics, specs, and interesting info like crash testing (very cool, and not info that's readily available in print!) as well as tehnological advances for the period. Fun stuff. I highly recommend you search for your personal vehicle ...great way for you two to bond.

Hey guys! Yeah, it IS exciting, isn't it!
My flatbed scanner (8.5x11) isn't large enough for the brochure pages, but I think if I take some dig pix of each page, I may be able to pull this off ...results will tell, eh? Will come back with either pics ...or an apology

I have a Porsche brochure that was printed in 1981- probably for the 1982 year.I'll sell it for what I paid for it on Ebay. PM/email me if interested... p_kennington@hotmail.com

If you can scan them or take a digital picture of them they would be a great addition to the SCWDP website!! Even if you scan portions of it and overlap the portions I can put them all together with photoshop, if its any easier. -chris

OK ...apology time, ugh!!
I tried taking pictures of the pages ...images ended up tini-weenie and didn't look like it would have been readable, or if so not very appealing.
I then tried scanning, and my cheesy scanner not only takes forever, but would take 3 passes for just one page since it's a bit taller and wider than 8.5x11.
Finally, after said time-consuming scans, I then have to save them at 34MB files ...and that's at only 400dpi. I tried at 1200 dpi and that not only took longer but also resulted in nearly 100mb files. Remember that's only one scan, and I'd have to do 3/page!!!
OK, so I'd love to share here. Especially since I get the feeling you guys who have responded to this post so far are as geeky (in a cool, porsche way ) as I am. I am open to suggestions.

Use 1024 x 768 max (not to big to easily work with, yet prints out well on an inkjet) or whatever aspect ratio doesn't exceed either of those two numbers, @ 300 pixels per inch is fine. Save as .jpg, post 'em and between fty, myself and whoever else cares to play around with the images, we/ll make it work
Or, take the brochure to Kinko's, tell 'em what your intentions are and let them do the work. I'll chip in for a share of the expense (which'll be less than the cheapest Genuine Porsche part that I know of!)
I'm just a self taught Photoshop hobby hacker, so anyone knowing more than me please chime in!

You guys rock! All righty ...I'll try at 300dpi (and I am saving as jpegs) and we'll see what comes of it. After all this anticipation, I hope you're all not disappointed when you finally get the pages, though. I mean *I* really dig having this brochure, but I'm dorky that way (God love my wife for understanding me ). It's just a cool, little piece of history which happens to be, oh, relevant to ME.
Am at work right now, but will try tonight so stay tuned.
