seat height
This is truly mundane,..but I was comparing 2 similar cars this weekend. Mine, an '84 Cab, brother in-law's '87 Cab. My seat bottoms are much thicker than his,...in other words, I sit higher in my car than in his. I feel like I actually am too high. I'm totally average, 5'10". Is it possible to alter the seat bottom to reduce the height? Sounds silly,...but I'm so much more comfortable in his car,...kinda feel like I am "in" the car,..as opposed to "on" my car?
Any thoughts?

Seat height, position, comfort, and distance from the controls are actually very important. If you read any book about racing or driving, the seat is usually the first thing discussed. That said, what kind of adjustments does your seat have? I assume you've tried to adjust it to set lower? I think these cars had a couple different options for seat brands, so you might want to find out which seat your car has via the options code.

Are your seats manual, power 4 way or 8 way? Non-power & 4 way seats set differently than 8 ways. The 8 way seats in my 88 Carrera go way down, especially in the front. I am 5 ft 5" tall and the lower front keeps my knees from hurting on trips.

thanks for the responses,...my seats are manual,...only adjustments are fore/aft and a **** for seat back angle, unfortunately no adjustment for up/down.
I don't think I have spacers,....the seat track sits directly on a raised platform.
My seat bottom is clearly thicker than my brother-in-laws, by at least 1", so maybe swapping for sports would be the ticket,....really like larger bolsters also.
