Default Tranny Help

I'm rebuilding a G50-20 out of a '96 Carrera 2 and I'm looking for any information that is out there. Is there a do-it-yourself site? Somewhere I can get photos, exlpoded drawings, etc.? I'd like to see some pictures of what's inside this thing before I go in there. Basically, I'm too cheap to pay these guys the $10k+ they want of rebuilding one.

Any help would be appreciated.

That's a 993 911. I don't know of any DIY manual for a 993. There is a nice website p-car.com that has an extensive DIY section, but I just checked and there is no tranny rebuild thread. I would think your best be is an original Porsche workshop manual for the 96 993. It is written for mechanics and so is not very detailed about how to do things, but the pictures and parts diagrams are excellent. I have one for the early 911 to 911SC and I found it very useful in describing the 915 tranny.
