Default Looking for G50 Carrera...

Hey guys, I don't post so much anymore, but I thought I'd get you guys to help me look out for a 87-89 Carrera to replace my daily driver M3. I picked up the BMW when we started servicing Bimmers at the shop, but my RSR project is taking so long to get on the road that I am jonesing for Porsche driving (and tracking) again.

Problem is - the M3 is SO creature comfort oriented, that I'm going to need the improved dash/AC vent layout of the late Carrera AND the G50 upgrade. This is a problem, of course, due to the relative obscurity of 87-89 coupes compared to the SC and prior 911s.

So, if you see a good deal on a G50 Carrera, please drop me an email!! I almost snagged GaryR's 89, but missed it. I need a nice driver, but would love to keep the costs down so as not to drain any more pennies from the '72 RSR project...

TIA for the help!

send any leads to the shop : zuffenhaus@mindspring.com

I dunno, I'm kind of an idiot.
(as in, I've taken bus rides to pick up cars that were 12-17hours away)

Does it have to be a coupe?

I'd do a search on auto trader. I was very specific in that I wanted a 92-94 964 cab, all original and low miles that I had to expand my search from the NJ/NY/PA/CT area to the whole east cost....found the car 1,200 miles away- once confirmed condition as much as possible via pictures and questions, I invested the $200 to take a flight there to confirm- bought car and had shipped up to NJ. My point is with specific parameters, you'll have to expand your geographical search, and autotrader and other similar sites make it easier in the internet age...

Good luck! I had an '87 and it was a nice upgrade from my prior '78 in terms of 3.2 torque vs. 3.0 torque and smoother shifting...just don't expect a real lot of torque below 4,000
