Dyno Comparisons
Just got back from the dyno again, this time with my 1991 Taurus SHO.
Interesting how my '84 Carrera compares to your domestic family sedan.
Green, 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera, 3.2L H6, Fabspeed Euro Premuffler & M&K 1-in / 1-out muffler, Weltmeister chip, valve adjust, plugs, cap, rotor, Magnecor wires.
Red, 1991 Taurus SHO, 3.2L V6, +.040 lift cams, experimental porting (removed bridge separating the dual intake runners at cylinder head inlet on the head & the runners), high-flow Y-Pipe w/ cats, stock paper air filter, no chip, no larger MAF, etc.
Blue, 1991 Taurus SHO, 3.2L V6, +.060 lift cams, ported / polished, oversized valves, custom one-off JBA headers / True Duals (2.25" to 2.5" Flowmasters), 80mm MAF, 48 lb-hr injectors, Vortech V1 S-Trim @ 15psi non-cooled boost.
Sometimes I miss boost. Then I remember the route to get there.

Damn that Tauris is making some serious HP! would be a nice sleeper! Not only would they not know which way the car is facing, they'll also not know which way it went!

Yeah the mocha 91 was an ugly beast. On street tires I dragged a viper, my 13.62 @108.84 vs. his 12.88 @ ~113 IIRC.

Car had coilovers w/ 600 # fronts, 400# rears, aluminum rear arms & bushings, Wilwood BSL 12.2" brakes up front. From a roll the car was amazing. From a dead stop it was either horrific wheelspin even with the Quaife or bog city; the block was lowered to 9.0:1 CR, and with the Stage 2 cams it made NO power until the boost kicked in. Weight transfer is horrible in the car too.

And yeah, aerodynamically, it's like driving a barn. Dyno top speed gearing-wise is ~200mph. Stock wind resistance, ~137-142mph. Guy with a similar setup has the class ECTA (maxton, NC) 164+ mph run.
Anyway,
I just thought it was interesting how the power curves for the 2 engines are very similar, parallel curves for the N/A 91 vs. the '84 911.
