shows once again that not every Porsche is a "20 K car" .. unless you want to pay that for it ...

you guys are great.....I love the after thought. I hope we are still friends. there is a red SC for sale near by for $13,800 that my wife thinks I should get for her. the dealer claims to be one of the PO's and it is clean, but it has something like 180,000 miles. that is three and a half times what mine had. good night guys

...not sure why this was such a deal - $12.5k, then needs a rebuild, clutch, rust fixed and at least a partial repaint...your right iceman, it's MORE than a 20k car if fixed properly!!!

For someone with the time, tools, and inclination:
Top end - all parts were included so it's just machine shop labor on the heads - $1500?
Clutch - included also - $0
Rust - easily repaired - $20 worth of Argon, plate, and wire?
Paint - easy to blend Guards Red - $300 in paint supplies?

To hand it to a shop and say "fix everything", no. But then again I wouldn't do that with any car... It was a GREAT deal for the guy that got it and for a couple others that were in line behind him.

I would have bought it .. if i hadn't had one already , and had the other dide of the garage with another projec car ..

goes to show these cars are still generaly all over the map. One of our local guys just sold an 82SC just to get rid of it as he bought a 930. Really nice shape and couldn't move it for more than 14K CAD .

some guy got a sweet deal of an SC
