Default 85 911 Cab Ruf One-off 2418 Miles M491

Hope I'm not posting in the wrong place.

I want to thank all of you for the helpful comments and suggestions and all the great information on this website as I prepared this car for sale.

Although I wasn't able to personally enjoy this car for a variety of reasons, I can appreciate your passion for these gorgeous vehicles.

PM me if you'd like a link to 100+ pictures and additional description.

Thanks
Al

Other then the steering wheel what exactly is RUF on this car? The boards look like Porsche factory pieces. Do you have docs from Ruf saying what they did?

If you (or anyone else) PMs me, I'll send you a link that includes a copy of the Ruf invoice. They did running boards, dual exhaust, lowered suspension, gauges and added some leather accessories including the lower 1/3s of the doors.

Thanks
Al

First time I have seen the BBS RS wheels with the porsche caps like that. Looks nice - good luck with the sale.

They may be US stock - I don't know. It's possible that they only swapped out the German gauges for US. But the invoice does talk about replacing gauges.

I guess it would have been cooler to have the odometer go up to 270, even if it was only km, but then it would have been hard to say with a straight face, "But officer, I was only doing 270."

Thanks. I see a lot of Fuchs wheels on this site. Were the BBS wheels a big thing back in the day?

Hmmm...didn't sell. I have to say that I'm totally intrugued by this car. A red M491 cab with Ruf bits? Wow. With the right buyer(s) present, this may do well at a live auction like Barrett-Jackson or RM.

On the other hand, it's probably the unknown cost of making it road worthy that scares people. I mean, 2400 miles on a 22 year old car?

They were in the day - lots of folks happily traded in their fuchs for a set of gold BBS wheels. Now everybody wants the fuchs = especially the big fuchs.

Nah, not me, I'm into the gold BBS wheels, especially for my black Cab. Always casually looking for the 16's.

all, whats up with this car? I've been watching CABs for a while on and off and always thought I'd want the widebody if I ever got one. as a factory original with 2,500 miles I thought this would command a higher price? is it the 'sitting for 12 years' thats scared everyone off on this?

little help for future knowledge would be appreciated....

Maybe the frozen-solid clutch, knowing they can't really PPI / test drive it?
