Default 1969 911E with 3.0 litre

Hi

I would appreciate any advice/warnings about this car: (if the ebay link doesn't work it is:
item #270125172359 on ebay australia

The seller says it is an ex-Californian car and has the 4 speed 901 gearbox.

Just wondered if you guys can spot anything odd by just looking at the pics? For instance, are the rear guards flared more than on the originals? Does it look lowered? Do you have any views on a 3.0 SC motor with the 901 box? (both rebuilt I'm told).

I don't mind that it's not original, and if I got keen I would certainly have a PPI from an experienced local shop.

regards

hi mate

are there receipts for the rebuilt box and engine?

assuming its an SC 3litre it could potentially be relaible and quick

looks like its got SC flares

i'm not keen on cars that have had the right to left conversion. i've driven a few and somehow they never seem quite right.

price seems a bit high but could be worth a look

regards,

JV

Many thanks. It has not been converted - still a left hooker. I'm not sure how I will be with that on the road. It is registered in Qld however, as you will see from the pics.
Btw, I am also a bit keen to have a look at a 2.7 in brisbane - same year as your's I think - white, with the cookie cutters.
You will see it on Carsales. If you have the time to have a look at it I'd appreciate a note on what you think. In fact I would be really grateful for your impressions of owning an Aussie 2.7. Of course I have heard all the scare stories about the 2.7 but I am prepared to live dangerously if work has been done on it by a good shop - the T&D Autos mentioned in the ad are very experienced and used by a lot of Porsche Club members up here in Brisbane.
I have an original Aussie 356 which I do not plan on giving up. I would just like to find a 911 which is nimble and light.
all the best

JV - the 2.7 is Vehicle ID 4221368 on Carsales
P.S. do you loan the model out to other 356 owners ;-)

ah left hook eh - starting to see more of those around. especially mustangs

yea mine's '76

2.7s did have some probs early on with pulled head studs but there is no reason a 2.7 cant be as reliable and quick as a 3 litre as long as its properly maintained and had the upgrades.

the white one looks pretty clean but its always hard to tell from pics. i looked for over a year before i found mine. between me and VA911 we must have looked at every 74-89 in a 300km radius of sydney!

VA911 is for sale - really clean SC. PM him and he'll email you some pics

a few simple rules: dont rush, drive as many as you can, and get a PPI

if you're ever in Sydney let me know and i'd be glad to take you for a spin

off now so we'll discuss further in the morning

cheers

Jeremy
