Hi everyone,
I'm looking to get suggestions on the value of an SC I'm looking to purchase:
- 1979 911 SC
- 5 speed
- 112,000 miles
- one owner
- Silver/Lobster Red
- all service records
- no major accidents
- interior driver seat restuffed recently - entire interior redyed - small crack on dash
- exterior has a few minor nicks and scratches - nothing major
- i'd rate the inside a 9/10 and the outside 8/10
- located in northern California - Oakland its whole life
Any thoughts on a fair price? Thanks for your input!

p.s. if you need more info. to determine value just let me know!

...a good place to start is "carsthatmatter.com". Also, Sports Car Market magazine is a great resource. Prices for these cars are starting to move up, so it would be helpful to review the car's service/repair records. When were the synchros done? When was the airbox replaced? Are the shocks original (Bilstein or Boge?), has the car been updated to Carrera timing chain tensioners. One thing to be aware of, some one-owner cars in this mileage zone will need a lot of deferred maintenance, others can be truly very well-maintained examples. Of course, you will need to have a PPI done, including an inspection for possible broken cylinder head studs.

I payed $14,000 for a 79SC with 181,000 mls. Flawless paint and body, exellent interior, no leaks or smoke, rebuilt trans with new clutch, outstanding example of a early SC!
