I want to build a 1974 RS 3.0 Clone one to compete in Classic Tarmac Rallies. Which is going to have a 3.4L twin plug 300HP engine, Turbo brakes and serious amount of weight taken out of it.
I am just looking for a project car at the moment that I can throw approx $100,000 USD.
If all I wanted was one to look at, I would buy a cheap SC and change the guards and bumpers over to RSR spec. that would cost me no more that $35,000 USD.
Doc's Porsche is a nice car, however it is completly wrong in terms of a true traditional RSR, the whole purpose of these vehicles is to be high HP, low weight, rear drive and race handling.
As soon as I purchase a suitable car, I will commence posting the project pictures.

The object of the excercise is to build one so I can justify building a tricked out workshop. And afterwards I can drive one ! It's like having your cake, AND eat it !

Silver is my favorite color for a Porsche. It reminds me of the German racing heritage like AutoUnion. (However, I've never bought a car based on color so I have never even owned a silver car.)
If you're trying to attract attention then I think yellow is today's "red" for eye-popping cars.

It's built on a 70 chassis, 3.5 L RSR twin plug motor, coilovers, turbo brakes. It is a monster. I am picking car up tomorrow. I post some more pics when I get car buttoned up this weekend.

I have been building it for quite some time. Should have it finished in a couple of weeks. I'll echo what Randy said earlier go buy an already finished car if you can, you'll be dollars and time ahead. I can PM you with more details if you would like.

I really want to buy an existing car for obvious reasons including saving time and money, however all of the cars I have seen over here are either rust buckets or have been in MAJORRRRR STACKS!!
I'd love to hear more details, is it slide injection or carbies, how much does it weigh??
Have you had it out much yet? If so is it an animal that you have to wrestle with and constantly tune??
I am purely building the car for competetion purposes and therefore it's not going to be a boulevard cruiser.
