I have a 1969 911t with a bad ignition switch. I'm having a incredibly difficult time trying to find a replacement since the one that is in the car does not have a steering wheel lock arm and has spade connectors instead of pin. Does anyone have a recommendation on how I can convert this old system to a newer style switch that is easier to replace in the future if it goes bad again? Can a conversion be made at all?

While the '69 ignition key itself is the same configuration as 356 Porsches (single cut), I'm not sure the ignition switch itself is a direct replacement.
As you discovered, the '69 switch may be/is NLA. The portion of the switch that wears the most is the start or crank position. To increase its lifespan, I installed a remote starter switch to replace this function. Here's the link.
Let me know if you have any questions.
