I recently posted a thread about how I reluctantly have to part with my car. Within minutes, it was deleted. I know certain soliciting is a no-no but does that apply to those of us who are selling our own vehicles as well?

Dear Scott, if you read the terms of service you would know that posting ads is a privilege reserved for paying members. Did you perhaps get a private message to that effect from the moderator who deleted you message?

Bob,

Thanks for shedding some light on the subject. I was trying to find where the information you just provided was posted but had no luck.

I had every intention of becoming a Rennlist member but since I will soon no longer be a Porsche owner, membership would only serve as a painful reminder to me of what could have/should have been.

spence - yep it is mine. Chose the silver because I thought the other colors were too "hey lookatme". I think it is the nicest combo now that I have seen it parked next to the others.

Hi Scott...I'm sorry to disagree with you but Rennlist is the best remedy "between Porsches"...or you think you are cured from "the bug"?

And $17 will buy the ticket to reach the most enthusiast crowd in the Porsche world...an ad at autotrader.com will cost 3X more and is less effective...

I sold two cars on Rennlist...one took me a week and the other one 12 hours...

Good luck with the sale...

Pedro, I'm certainly not cured from "the bug" however I believe it would be in my best interest to pretend that I am for the next few years at least. Things are so tight right now that every last dollar counts. However, you raise a valid point. I've been using mainly free recources to sell the car thus far but if it comes down to paying to advertise, Rennlist would be the logical choice.

By the way, my deleted post contained a sincere thank you to all those who offered help and advice to me over the last year or so. That obviously still holds true and I do hope to one day rejoin the ranks of 911 owners.

Good luck Scott...I'd second Randy's advice regarding Pelican... www.pelicanparts.com

You can list your car there for free and get a lot of "visibility"... don't forget to add something to your ad (thread format) every other day in order to get your thread on top of the list again...

Take care...
