Default engine cooling

During a DE event, there was a black flag and we had to stop the the cars on the track. Generally, you want to cool down your engine and brakes by a slow lap at the end if possible, but we were forced to stop in this case.

The question is, should I shut off the engine, should I let it idle or should I rev it up to 2000 RPM and allow more air from the fan to cool the engine a bit? What works best?

Off.
Unless a turbo, then let idle for a minute or two.
