Post Clutch chatter / squeal

I have a pre '70 911 with clutch squeal. It seems to be coming from the tube that runs over the accelerator cable right before attaching to the clutch. When I move this tube the noise goes away, but eventually comes back when the tube repositions itself. Should I pull the clutch cable out and lubricate it? Is it possible to do that without removing the cable?

Dave
