Default My DRUCK has run amuck

Within the last day or so my oil pressure gauge has started acting strangely. I noted an occasional "fluttering" and then today the needle jumped up to the very highest level in all gears except fifth gear at which time it fell back to a more normal reading but with some flutter. Oil pressure sending unit or something more sinister?

You aren't saying what year and engine you own but... On the 3.2 the oil pressure sender is at the rearmost part of the engine, visible in the engine compartment. Check yours to see that the connection isn't pulling off or broken. This will cause a flapping needle. The sender itself can go bad as well.
Not sure what your gear would have to do with it.

Thanks for the reply! I forgot to enter the info on the car- 1984 Targa. I'll be out in the garage within the hour; fingers crossed.
