Default modified the bill of sale...good or bad idea???

Hello!

I just bought a 911 in USA. I want to bring it back to canada, but i want as possible to save money on taxes.....

Do you think it's a good idea to modified the bill of sale....really less than what i pay. Could someone tell me about their experience.

Thank you

Use pilot's discretion! You think anyone in their right mind is going to tell you to break the law?

Bad idea. Pay your tax. Or, if you prefer, there is solid precedent for dressing up as a Mohawk and dumping the goods into the water in protest -- before you buy it, though.

Why do I have a frightening vision of guys dressed as Mohawks pushing pcars into Boston Harbor? Need Less Caffeine!

As above, it is a crime to defraud CAN customs.

If you do it & I'm sure many do, don't get caught & don't talk about it. Customs officers are not stupid, they just seem that way sometimes. As for the provincial tax, Ontario now requires an appraisal for licensing & tax which would make it pointless. Other provinces may vary.

See the Pelican thread for importing details: Link

I don't know....but to discuss the subject openly at an international forum with thousands of members...definitely a bad idea!!!

What on earth possessed you to post this on a public, international forum? Do you think anyone would say, "sure, go ahead, defraud the Canadian government?" As one of the other posters said, pay your bleeping taxes and stop trying to get advice on how to break the law.

Rant over.

Altering bill of sale to save a few tax bucks? Bad idea.

Seeking amateur legal advice on the internet? Really bad idea.

Soliciting opinions on committing fraud on a public discussion board? Unbelievably bad idea.

Reading people's comments about this idea? Priceless.

Why didn't you ask this question in the canadian forum? Look at who answered your question... a bunch of americans from Texas who pay the lowest tax in their country (maybe not but that's not the point).

Fraud... nobody's 100% clean anyway. $1 or $10,000 it's the same damn thing.

I've sold a car to a friend for $1. Was it worth more? Of course it was...

To the Thedyinggiraffe, I don't know where you get your info on taxes in Texas, but i can assure you that just because we don't have a state income tax, doesn't mean we have low taxes. My property taxes plus the 8.5% sales tax and the other taxes I pay aren't cheap. Sir, Can you provide me with the source of your database info as I would like to learn how I pay less? Thanks in advance.
