I can't seem to find any drift videos of pre '78 911s. Has anyone seen these narrow cars drifted by an expert?
Until I know it can be done I always try to correct quickly. Have only spun the car a couple of times, and both times the front tires lost traction first, then quickly sling shotted the backend around as soon as they caught traction again.

as far as my knowledge of drift car, this isn't a good choice. Drift cars are usually front engine rear wheel with about 300-500RWHP, and also it depends on the differential too.
In my experience of using the 911 as a drifter, it is very limited. The power is right, but the weight is all wrong. you can do it, but how much $ in damages and tires do you have to spend? you are going to have to buy some cones and just learn.
Make sure you have an open lot with NO light posts, OR curbs nearby.

Yes a 911 definitely is not a great "drift" car, kindof tricky to balance it on the throttle. But, many 911s were/are still rallied extensively, so a good driver can do it (though of course rallies are on looser surfaces usually). Also check out Ruf's Fazination video, some of the best driving I have ever seen. The Ruf test driver effortlessly slides the 500+ hp 2500 lb CTR around the Nurburgring in the dry. Well, having 500 hp instead of 180 does help. Whatever you do, be careful!

hm...I got one of his runs. it's admittedly in my old desktop hard drive. I'll have to dig it up to get it. If anyone is interested, let me know. he goes way more nuts on this one than the one on you tube.

ok. I'll just need to borrow my brother's external drive case for a bit. Any tips on how to post videos? I'm kind of a n00b when it comes to these types of things.
