Default HELP! E-brake warning light

Hello All,
I just rebuilt my rear calipers, and removed and cleaned the disk/hats and left the ebrake component unmolested. Everything is back together as it should be, operates fine, but the *#@&^% e-brake light won't go out. I've tried adjusting it at the handbrake lever, I've even removed the plate and unplugged the switch, but the light stays one. I have searched the archives, tried the battery disconnect trick, all to no avail. Does the light fail in the "on" position?
Am I the idiot my wife claims? What is the meaning of life?
Well, disregard the last 2 questions, does anyone have a solution to that annoying little light?
TIA
j

Could it be one of the switches in your master cylinder? does your brake fluid cap have a level sense in it ?

Probably caused by like one of your brake sensors on the pads.

depends on the car being worked on, SCs don't have pad sensors.

If you cut the wires, then that is your problem. Best thing to do with the brake sensor wires is to zip tie them up out of the way. If you cut them then you will have to reconnect ('jumper") the wires together to close the circuit.

Default I fixed it!

Thanks for all the replies. I got it working by removing the handbrake handle assembly, removing the switch & related stuff, cleaning the @#$%$$#& out of it & putting it all back. Adjusted switch & it works like a charm now! Kinda wierd how a few things go gunny-bag on a twenty four year old car, but 34 years ago at 24, I was sure EVERYTHING worked fantastic on me.
Thanks,
j
