I feel like a traitor to my 944 guys..Gerber Motorsports..

A quality rebuild of a 911 engine will run $6500-10,000+. I would be very leary of full rebuilds that cost much less that this. Unless you know exactly what has gone into the rebuild and trust who did it, a top end on a known good engine would be my choice. I did a complete rebuild on my engine for around 7000 including new 3.4 P&Cs ARP rod bolts, performance springs and cams reground and too many other things to list here. I did all the work except for the machine work. If the engine is in good shape the top end is still a better choice than a unknown low cost rebuild, IMHO of course.

Do a search here and look at the engine rebuild forum at Pelican to get more of an understanding of what a 911 rebuild involves and why it costs what it does.

I paid 12 for my 89 3.2 rebuild with some "mods" I am very very happy with everything and
consider it money well spent. I suggest getting a good shop/mechanic to do the work and
stand behind it afterwards. My origional budget was 10 grand.... I kinda went over !!
Like Pete said.... get what you pay for !

I see 5-6k for good used 3.2 motors but rebuilt should cost 10k+. This is why I did a 3.6 conversion instead of a rebuild. Cost was about the same.
