Carrera 3.2 ultimate power

The 3.6L 964/993 motor is the best way to get more hp and torque.
To modify the 3.2L you can go to 3.5L w/o too many issues.
You need to make the motor pump more air - that's what an engine IS it is an air pump - barring a turbo or displ. increase you will be spending many $$ for a rel. low return.
The big problem that motor has is the exhaust. so the first thing is a free-flowing exhaust & muffler. You are now violating smogs regs. and I'm sure England has them. So post your constratints.

22 add'l hp from Steve's chip ALONE wounds like a wet dream to me. Write him and ask - I'm sure he will give some straight info.
22 with the chip & muffler/headers = Yes.

I think a low boost turbo set up is unbeatable bang for buck and simplicity. You dont have to drop the engine, open it up etc etc, it's bolt on and bolt off. Best of all if you decide to sell the car you can return it to stock and sell the turbo kit seperately which fetch high resale value and sell quick. It also allows you keep adding more and more power, 350hp starting point, 400hp with a big intercooler, then lower the compression with thicker gaskets or 3.3 P&Cs and the sky's the limit. The US 3.2 having a 930 bottom end standard and relitively low compression is just asking it!

Here is what I did.....
3.4
10.5:1
twin plug
Jenvey 48mm throttles with port matched manifolds
1 5/8 headers
dc44 cams on 108 lobe centers
ARP head studs and rod bolts
Balanced to zero grams
boat tailed case
Microtech ecu
blah blah blah
It should make north of 300hp at the flywheel....

I did euro pre exhaust, Danske free flow exhuast and Autothority Mass Air Flow with matching chip on my 3.2. Gave a broader tourque curve and perhaps 10% additional HP. The car was quick but not spectacular. Then I replaced the 3.2 with a 1993 3.6, chip, headers and Spintech exhaust. This is the only way to go. Incredable torque and about 280 rear wheel horsepower. The 3.6 conversion cost about 10K.

Where can I find one of those? I would like to have that kind of HP.

Read this thread for the typical hyperbole used by a supplier with his "smoke & mirrors" and
false claims to market a performance chip and his lack of knowledge about the 3.2 911 DME
and how it functions:

And some will still believe anything even when the credibility of the supplier isn't there!

ha, I laugh at a 3.6 with money left over, thousands even. And though I'm not an arrogant guy, I've been drinking a little bit. But I'd give an m3 three seconds in a dash to 120 in a heartbeat.

I've never heard of anyone that has a turbo kit on a 3.2 say otherwise, seems to be a very potent combination. Every porsche person I tell about turboing a 3.2 looks at me like I'm some kind of butchering freak and says NO WAY. Are you running stcok compression Jerry? Intercooler?
