Default New car

I just bought an 06 Jetta GLI, with DSG gearbox and xenons, 0 package (no options). On monday I'm off for a chip from GIAC thats good for stock/91/race/valet and a turbo back which should pound down 280TQ and 240HP to the wheels., not bad for a 2.0 4 cylinder!

For some reason MKV is what made me lose interest in new VW's. GTI's are cool, but the jetta seems to be hopelessly in a world of confusion right now. It kinda wants to be a Corolla and it wants Audi status. Still it is a nice DD. Enjoy and don't forget to wear your seatbelt when you use the turbo.(Ha! My girl used to think that the turbo on our T5 Volvo was only being used above certain RPM's)

Hey, at least they still come in TORNADO RED! Love it...the color of my first car, a brand new 1986 GTI. That's one of the grandest reds in the automotive world...

Great car! I have an '06 GTI/DSG. Lot of car for the buck. I try not to compare it to my '89 SA as its amazing how far cars have come in 20 years.

Enjoy!

Funny, its called "Salsa Red" now, its still tornado red like my 92 GTI, oh well

As far as the corolla looks, eh I have a black 2.5 that my fiancee drives, we've had for about a year and a half, parked next to one in a parking lot, completely different. And the ride and comfort is on par with a BMW for alot less.

If you go look at a $16K rabbit, it has the same build quality, and materia quality of cars twice as much, that the japanese couldn't even touch. I'm partial though, I've been a long time VW owner and former technician

Yeah my buddy had a MK4 GLI in PG on the lot too, but alas, it was a tip, no can do. Having driven a DSG several thousand miles cross country, and working on BMW's, I can say it surpasses the SMG in the M3 by far, and will give the 7 speed in the M5/6 a run for the money in shift time/operation.
