To all,

I have a 1990 C4 Convertible Blk/Tan w/ 86K that needs about $8K of work done, both mechanical and body repair. The car has not been driven for 8 months and is stored in a NYC garage. Would prefer to restore the car, however, if I cannot find a recommended shop, I unfortunately need to sell. Please advise. Thanks.

my vote for rennwerke (porsche only -mostly air cooled) in elmsford new york - do a 'search' here, many others have also been happy with the owner 'cheech' fernadez. I live in NYC

you will find fans of many local mechanics here on rennlist, and almost always one or two who were unhappy - while Mark @ formula was kind enuf to help me out once or twice with little stuff, i feel he did a friend of mine a di$-$ervice with a big job - at least get an estimate before you start - but as I said, while there seem to be a lot of talented mechanics around NYC, I guess nobodies got a 100% rating.

BTW, while it is not uncommon to ask for mechanic recommendations here, mostly its by what needs to be done, not the cost ("needs about 8K"). may we ask what the problem is?
