Agree 100 percent Peter.
Factory always knows best.
I would not think of going with the 46's - just the S pistons with S cams - but the same heads. Would it be (worth) any gain seeing as they would be breathing through the smaller ports ?
How about The 2.2 S pistons and S or solex cams and the small heads ? That seems to me like it would less ideal.
Isn't the enrich curcuit of the IDS webers less critical if you have an MSD or Bosch CDI ?
