Default Its is Time to start buying parts

OK just bought the fab speed bypass etc.
Just purchased the wong chip

Now for suspension I did a very inspection tonight on the suspension pieces.

Rear spring plates need replacing........I want rubber bushings just like stock...who should I buy from?

Rear Sway bar needs bushings I want to use stock type Who should I buy from?

Front A arm Bushings replace with stock rubber...who should I buy from?

When Iget the suspension done in a few weeks it will be new tire time.

After that then it will carpet and seat covers

Show me links...

Yes I am stuck on stock items not going to do poly or graphite or elephant

Go to Zim's or someone that sells OEM parts. Stock is OK on the sway bars, but I think you're making a mistake on the front and rear T-bar bushings.

Why does your spring plate need replacing, was it wrecked?

That's them. If they don't have it in stock, they usually will have it by the next day.

Fausto
Let me know what you think of the chip! Mine came back from Swiss Garage, idle is at 1600 RPM, I only had a chance to turn it over, so don't know about driveability. Also, Dallas is not looking very good as I have to be in Phoenix Tuesday night, and I don't get into Houston until late Sunday, early Monday. It sucks, as I was looking forward to the visit in Dallas. I'll keep you in the loop, hope things change, and good luck with the new shiny bits!

Why are you set on the soft rubber bushings? They are a headache to install, and there are much better options.

Eggsactly, hence my comment about thinking this is a mistake. The Elephant Racing goodies, which I know you're aware of, are the only way to go, IMO.

If you're concerned about the "warnings" some put on aftermarket bushings and ride quality, they are rubbish. Right now you're riiding on 20 year old compacted rubber, so you will actually improve your ride much. I still say that out of all of my upgrades and rehab to my car, the single best improvements made were polu-bronze front and rear.

You're welcome to drive my car to see how it feels, if you want.....

BTW, such an upgrade, which is much easier than straight poly bushings or OEM can be split into two jobs. One weekend for front, one for rear. This is a manageable project this way without killing yourself and keeps the car on the road more, if that's a concern.

Its not that I am against them but my other expeiences have taught me to side with stock materials. Im not against just maybe afraid to venture out in to aftermarket suspension pieces. I lso do al my own work.

Ed yes I would really like that. Lets try to arrange something.. BTW did you install them yourself?

It's not like your blazing a trail. These are well proven, and are one of those once-in-a-great-while improvements on the stock parts.

Yes, I installed myself. They really go in straight forward, and the key is they require no machining to make them fit. Let me know when you're ready to take a spin.

This isn't like a normal car...the stock bushings are attached to the metal parts and have to be machined off. I'm not sure how you would replace just the bushings with OEM...you would have to replace the entire suspension member, no? In any event...what everyone else said...the ERPs offer no downside. My SC with 22/28 Tbars, 22mm sways and ERP bushings rides far better than my bone stock BMW M3, if you can believe that.

You don't have to "machine off" the old bushings. Cut them longitudinally, and heat them with a torch.

Can you reinstall new OEM ones on them, though?
