Finally getting a chance to resume work on this project...
Removed the rear qtr panels and bumper to start working on it again...
Pressured washed the whole area:
Might be a good time to remove the oil tank and detailed it... clean it, paint it, etc... hummm... now the "while you are in there" sub project start to show up...
The previous owner, since he had the car close to stock, covered the second exhaust side. I will remove that cover and weld a small 3" pipe to then install the small radius elbow and get the dual exhaust finished.
I also need to remove the rear bumper shocks and built new and shorter supports for the new bumper as it needs to go in more (about 1 1/2" or so)...

Just little baby steps...
Cut bolts and drilled holes on the stock bumper support. Made a metal piece with two bolts welded to it to glue to bumper with epoxy. This will allow me to remove the bumper with ease...
Also finished modifying the muffler with the dual exhaust. Still need to cut just a little bit more to have the tailpipes closer to the middle of the cut outs in the bumper.
With the bumper now centered and held in place by bolts in the shocks, and the braces from the side, I can now work on aligning the quarter panels.

Looking great Jamie... The picture with the bumper in place really starts to show how it will look when finished, very exciting.
And was someone murdered in the garage or did somebody spill the Kool-Aid?!

Remind me to tell you about this funny story of how I should have let a pro paint the bumper... it is about not sealing the canister correctly on the spray gun and the canister falling on my leg and floor... how the paint still does not match, how I learned what fish eyes are, what smeared paint on a new bumper piece looks like... it is funny as hell... my wife is still laughing (just like the time that silver spray paint fell on the floor and burst on my new shoes... my work shoes now...)
Of course, on the 964, I ended up paying for a pro to redo the bumper and spoiler... so I ended up paying twice what would have cost to paint it in the first place... but that is the beauty of diy...
When I am done with this one I will try paint remover to clean the floor... if that does not work, I have a couple of boxes left of those tiles... I will just replace them.

Big thumbs up for even having the courage to give it a go yourself. And a few more cars down the line those shoes are going to look great! Too funny... Thanks for sharing.

Go ahead, put some salt in the wound...
I went from zero to platinum with American Airlines... not counting the flights with United or Lufthansa... all projects were put on hold...
I got a few weeks before I get on a plane again and head for India. So the plan is to take the 964 to my friend's house, bring the FIAT that is parked there. I have all the parts for the Fiat to finish it.
So the SC waits...

Inner duct (sorry for the small photos...)
Building a lip and reinforced mounting points
Let's glue this puppy!
Passenger Qtr Panel now in place. Bumper also attached (not sure if you can see the screws on the bumper. Those are to hold the inside bracket while it dries. Bumper can be removed easily and it is resting on the stock bumper shocks.
Rear wing blasted, glued, and ready to be primed...
Moving to the front... that mount looks sooooo much better than my first attempt...
Mirror holes welded shut... look at the perfect gap of the fender and the body!
Door dings fixed...
That is all for now

A few more recent photos. Let me know what you guys think of the color
That was just a rough test to see how it would look.
We had to order a new gas tank as the one in the car was rusted on the inside... ordered from Pelican Parts and arrived today.
