A couple of guys and I pushed an SC this weekend up to about 5MPH - we were jogging along pretty good behind it. The guy's EGR valve fell apart, and his car wouldn't start!

George,

The reason why people don't call PHD out as a liar is becuase everyone recognizes he is honest. Obvously you need some glasses so you can see his picture above. Why don't you go back to the Lounge and post a picture of your time slip. You and your tired old basterdized POS Porsche (sort of) belongs elsewhere. Your BS just keeps running and running and running...No one likes you except for your whipping boy Carolos.

Geoffrey: I know what my car runs I have many time slips as well. I don't ask anyone on this board to see their time slips, I could care less. If showing time slips gets your dick hard then so be it for you. If you think that my car is slow or I just talk because I don't show timeslips then come find out. This porsche board is fun comedy to me thats all plain and simple. I don't ask questions about how to fix anything or whats the best wax. I will admit I do love the cars 911,993's ever since a kid. I have been a porsche owner since 1994. I have a good friend thats helps me with the swamp monster that works at the local porsche dealer. He is also a member of the kelly moss race team. I am also a PCA member since 1994 also. I go to all the PCA clubs races in my area as time permits. I travel 8 times a year with my race team so I can't make all the club events like I would like to. I have met a lot of people since being a 911 owner in 1994 that have porsches and a majority of them buy porsches for the most part as a dick extension. Of all the time reading on this board I will say this PHD is the ONLY one out here with some *****. He drives it like he stole it and he will race, I like that. just my five cents

While it wasn't my car, I had the opportunity a few years ago to wind out a Carrera 2 on an autobahn west out of Kassel (in Germany. There was next to no traffic, adn I was able to keep the pedal to the metal for about 30 kilometers. It wook just over 7 minutes, averaging just ove 250 KPH. The speedo was indicating between 260 and 265.
A few things stick in my mind:
- it was really noisy
- sweeping curves that don't even enter one's consiousness at 200 KPH take some attention
- the hedge in the median combined with narrow shoulders made the concentration level intense - you couldn't see far enough around the bends to even consider relaxing
- passenger stayed very quiet
- car felt like all this was OK
- there is nowhere in North America to come close to this
- right lane traffic approached REALLY fast - Trabants had just appeared on the West German roads - scary things, especially with East German drivers
- The cost was staggering - it was a rental car and I had exceeded the free mileage - during the run I was chalking up extra charges at about CDN$425 per hour!!

It made me decide for a number on years that the Porsche experience was best enjoyed a week at a time in Germany. However, the bug just got the better of me

I did a hair over 125 this weekend @ Thunderhill; I managed to connect 13-14-15 right, SO I was WOT as I went thru 13. Picked up 4th before the hot pit area, 5th about 50 yards before the starting tower. It was too much of a pita to downshift to 4th - I nicked reverse slightly, so I chose to take to the rev limiter the rest of the time.

One of my scariest laps was when I forgot to brake coming into 1 - I hit it WOT - oye!

When I made the dyno comment, it had nothing to do w/ questioning the car's ability to go that fast, I just thought it was crazy that someone would take it that fast on a public road (if that was the case).

the fastest i,ve gone is 265km in a 71 lamborghini
espada. thats 164.47mph for those that don,t do math. nothing sound like a v-12 at 7000 rpm
traveling from winslow, arz to los vegas. second
153mph in my 77 turbo carrera after a new turbo install. 113mph (at the end of the 1/4) in my 69
copo camaro. and 140 so far in my 87 slant nose cabriolet. The older i get (51) the less important
the actual # is, just the ability to do it again
seem more important.

110 in the 1/4 mile in my old modified 86 951. That was fun, safe, and totally legal. I completely endorse it.

Curious about the digits on PorschePhD's tripmeter...funny that the 'hundreds' digit on the left is changing even though the miles were on 87. Maybe it wasn't reset properly?

How fast? A couple of years ago a few of us tried to put on a high-speed event in Limestone, cancelled because of insufficient interest. But with a 2-mile landing strip 300' wide and as smooth as a billiard table, the check-out run was a blast. My'86 951 hit an indicated 155, and there might have been just a little left! With two of us in it, very stable, perfectly straight. And plenty of room to slow down for the chicane at the one mile mark before launching it a second time. But Limestone, Maine is ten hours north of Boston, hence very few entrants. Just as well, because we wwre VERY concerned about safety.

I went 80 in 4th in my propane-converted 1986 F-150 downhill in the Slocan Valley near Nelson, BC. What a rush! Had to take a Valium after that.

Ran 150 with my 90 964, 140 with a 97 M3(sucks because of the limiter) and 140 with the 996(getting old afraid of tickets and the old lady).
