Hi Again,
I was wondering if a later model (84)front valance will bolt onto my 1977.
Also is the profile of this spoiler different
so that I can use my tea-tray, or is there a
different chin spoiler.
Regards,
Rich

I would think that any of the "bellows" bumpers cars, '74-89, could exchange front bumpers or valances freely. And there shouldn't be a problem with using the later front spoiler with any of the whale or tea tray style tails.

AScalways, Bill speaks the truth. When you change the valance the old windshield wash resevoir will not work.
The neat thing about the Carrera valance, you can remove the front fogs and get some additional air to the front oil cooler. I did this mod on my 80SC with a 84 Carrera fron valance.
If course the fender mounted cooler is not very effective on hot track days. Later, I sold off the valance, the 87 Carrera cooler and replaced it with the 934 or some call it the Ruf type spoiler with a center mounted oil cooler. Now that mod keeps the oil cool...but then again, that is another long story. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Martin,
Do you have a picture of your current set up?
I have been lurking online catalogs but I cant
ge a feel for how they look.
I am thinking that I will wait until Hershey,
I am sure there will be plenty of offerings there.

Here is the one I am using on my 76 Carrera, as you can see it is a cap which replaces the entire front end.

You can also get a similar valance which only replaces the part under the bumper.

Bill,
I like that look!
It gives a great line.
Is it fiberglass or flexible,
also from your album it looks like
a matching rear assy.
Do you recall the supplier?

Rich
