Post Safest place to support a 911

Here goes another post.
As part of my winter to-do list, I am replacing the worn spring rear plate bushings. Normally when I support the car I support it on the spring plate arm(?) that sticks out at the torsion bar area. But, when I am pulling the spring plate off, that "arm" comes with it. So where is a safe place to suport the car while I work under it? My wife says don't worry cause she bought a new life insurance policy on me.

Thanks,
Scott Harris

I usually lift the car via floor-jack under the tranny. Place a rubber pad between the jackpad and the tranny case as not to damage the 915 housing. Then use the jackstands under the tranny.

Or, see if you can rent a few hours of lift-time at the local shop, $30 and a few beers should suffice.

Safest place to jack is the tranny support bracket, mighty strong and gives good weight distribution. Make sure the jack head is well padded.
