Default What's your favorite TAIL?

I know that each wing serves its purpose and also came with certain cars? But I'd like to know which wing you prefer and why? This is not a poll, per say, but more of a discussion on wings. I will say that for me the ducktail is my favorite and its because of unusual shape. it just looks sporty as hell.

i like the ducktail too, but I also have a whaletail, I wonder though - what is the most effective/practical tail?

The best tail is from the 77 Turbo,--also known as a 934 tail. (It has a small grill in the center of it which can be used for reheating muffins in the morning of an autocross).

An old red and white RS with a ducktail is hard to beat!

I think it depends on the model, I have to say I just like what ever is era/model correct, I dont like turbo wings on narrow cars or later wings on early cars etc.... Saying all that I have a brand new turbo wing I will probably never mount, I just love the wingless look, I'm sure the car would handle better with one though...

I have love for no-tail cars. I will say that a no-tail car gives the appearance of no-nonsense, strictly business kinda car, wherer a tail gives the appearance of also no nonsense, but it's all about the fun kinda car.

I had a 74 w/o a tail. i liked that car alot, and would still have it today if not for a really bad accident that totalled it (not my fault!).
I now have a narrow-body 84 coupe w/ a turbo tail. I like it as much or more than my first one.
I like FACTORY parts (or absences of them) over ANY aftermarket wing/tail that I have seen.
This doesn't mean they are better, but they are factory.

I've gone so nuts with this car that I have a plain decklid, a Carrera tail and just ordered a Getty design ducktail. This way I can change as the mood stikes me - I feel duck season coming on.

I like the looks of the duck tail ... but my car has a factory carrera tail on it and I like the look better than no tail .. it definitely looks more muscular ( to me anyway )

For road cars, I like no tail but certainly like tails on track cars. Really like the 964 RS tail and the duck on any longhood.

I just removed my aftermarket OEM Turbo tail and it will be for sale soon!

How's this for a whale tail??

In addition to its good looks, the duck reduces both lift and drag.

The tail from the 993 GT2 is pretty spectacular. My favourite racecar tail would have to be from the phenomenal '74 RSR. I also like the Mk 1 GT3's tail.

But my personal favourite (I'm biased) is the Carrera 3.2's tail. Just perfect, pure. Those grills.... The 930's is gorgeous too, but the 3.2 has the edge as the sides aren't turned up. IMHO it’s prettier aesthetically. .

I'm not a fan of the 993 turbo's tail. Too plastic.

There's a company that does a ducktail spoiler for the 996 and that looks amazing. So retro!

This chick that sits next to me @ work, my God she's..... Oh wait a minute.......

I like any tail that is correct for the car. (neutral, PC)
What makes me crazy, turbo tails on a narrow bodies!! (opinionated)
Curiously, I love wide bodies with no tail :-) (double standard)

But if I had to pick, I agree with Edgy01 early turbo / 934 tail does it for me.

Brgds, Peter

I hate the ducktail. In an informal poll of non-porsche fanatics, the consensus was that ducktails look goofy (...pun intended), but generally porchefiles seem to like them. I'm a porcshefile that doesn't like them . I agree with the earlier poster that the early turbo tails look the best.
