Does adjusting your valves change the CO level at all? (please dont throw rocks!)

Hello Rob,

Yes, in theory it can. Altering valve clearance effects the valve timing. One estimate is an increase of 0.001" shortens the timing by around 3 degrees. Increasing the lash also reduces overlap and increases low speed compression.

Ya know I just had a sneaking suspicion it might..air intake, out, and all.. anything altering combustion process I guess? Will store that one away for memory.

All I can say is, if you don't know when CO was last checked, have it checked. It made an amazing difference in how my car ran.
