Default Price check - 85 coupe no sunroof

Need advice on price.. found a 85 coupe (no sunroof) with 85K original miles. Car has been resprayed probably 5-8 years ago, found a very small spot of bondo on each side of the door jamb with magnet, but no where else on the car. No wreck damage to be found...car has new tranny @ 3 years ago, stops on a dime and has very strong engine without any smoking or wierd noises. No service records past this owner who has had it serviced regularly at dealer for last 2 years. Need to replace the door seals, leaks a few drops of oil on heater boxes, but not on the ground. Can't find anything else to really fix. Overall, I would say this is a 8 out of 10 car and a driver...not a mint one, but better than average for sure.

guy wants $15K...yeah or nah say ye?

If you want the car for a driver, the paint job is presentable and the source of the oil leak is minor, I say Yes on this one.

$15k asking price isn't too bad for an '85 with relatively lower mileage for it's age.

If you're new to 911's, a PPI is good insurance. Make sure you still do all of your homework on this car.

Good Luck!

why would a 911 with only 85k miles need a new tranny...

Maybe didn't use proper technique when shifting the 915 tranny.

Default my new baby

Yes, this guy I bought it from was told by the previous owner that he had let his girlfriend drive it and evidently didn't know how to properly shift...so he had it replaced.

yes, for sure will send pics soon!
