Default 911-944 DME

Will a 944 DME work in a 911 for test purposes. The 84 SC won't start, has spark but no injector pulses.

First of all, I don't think you have an 84 SC, maybe an 83 SC or an 84 Carrera? I assume you are saying DME brain or did you mean the DME relay? I don't think the 944 DME brain is the same as the Motronic. I think the relay is different also.

No a 944 DME will not work in a 911. Also there is no model year 1984 911SC either apart from the 911SC/RS which uses mechanical fuel injection anyway and the standard 1978 to 1983 911SCs uses CIS or continuous injection system.
You are talking about a model year 1984 Carrera 3.2. The most common fault is the fuel pump/DME relay which is located next to the DME under the seat.
Ciao,
Adrian.
