Question Poll: How many '87-89's with broken Dilavar head studs?

I have a great running '87 3.2 at 141K miles but have recently become aware of the Dilavar head stud achilles heel. I have no reason to suspect a broken stud but was not aware of the chance to check when I did my last valve adjustment. How many of you have found broken studs? What did you do about it?

88 Carrera with 88,000 miles I found 2 broken studs when I did a valve adjust. I ended up needing the heads done and went to 3.4 P&C's. The car is stored winters and had the epoxy coated studs. IMHO dilavars will fail, it's just a matter of time. I wouldn't worry much about it until it happens. Mine fell out when I took the valve covers off.

Default 87 Carrera

My 87 Carrera has 81,000 miles and no problems with the studs. Valve guide wear is a bigger concern to me.

A head stud shot out and put a good size hole in the cement floor? I must have had too many beers? the head studs run horizontally so how did one hit the floor. I will have to read this in the morning to see if it makes sense sober. beware of flying head studs! LOL

Maybe his engine was not only "bulletproof" but actually had the ability to shoot back.
